Background

Located in a traditionally economically challenged borough of Leeds, Victoria Primary School had a strong desire to raise their educational standards and standing within the local community. The Headteacher commissioned SoVibrant to deliver a re-brand in order to clearly communicate the school’s cultural development and to provide a motivational platform for the staff, children and wider school community. The new visual identity was to filter through all the schools channels of communication and to be a prominent feature of both their interior and exterior spaces.

The Challenge

To develop a brand built on inspirational values and aspirational objectives and to position the school at the heart of the community.

To assist the school in achieving a clear strategy for transformational improvements to the schools environment.

To use brand messaging and imagery to create a strong differentiation between home and school life.

To use the brand to inform areas of refurbishment within the school focusing initially on the reception and school hall.

The Results

The results have been measurable, with the new visual identity assisting the Headteacher in facilitating a cultural and behavioural change, aided by the new school values and enhanced interior environments. A complete signage and way-finding solution has enabled the school to overcome difficulties presented by the layout of the grounds.

The brand launch and refurbishment projects have helped to raise the profile of the school and underpin the vision that the children have adopted as the stepping stone to their future.

SoVibrant is being featured in the Times Education Supplement for the innovative work completed within the school.

“We are so delighted with the outcome, we are already planning phase two, three and four. Whatever we do it will be ours, our ideas, our vision, our passion, all amazingly transformed by the talented team at SoVibrant.” – Alison Carrick – Headteacher, Victoria Primary School
