Park Community School is a newly re-built secondary school serving the community of Havant in Hampshire. As part of the development of the new facilities the school engaged SoVibrant to develop and implement a new visual identity and inspirational interior graphics and signage scheme, creatively expressing the school’s values and aspirations, and helping to connect the school community to the wider world.
To create an aspirational environment that inspires and encourages young people to experience and learn about the world they live in. To help provide them with the perspective that the world is bigger than Havant and to help pupils connect with the school’s values in a meaningful and engaging way to help create responsible, global citizens.
SoVibrant created a design concept that zones the school into global national parks, creating exciting linking brand values to the key qualities of each location alongside their educational meaning. Phase 1 of the school development was completed in September 2014, with the remainder of the works on-going.
A combination of specialist media was utilised including fret cut vinyl applications, dichroic vinyl, laser cut timber signage and full coverage digital applications to convey the overarching theme of national parks of the world.
The new interior graphics have been universally well received with a particular highlight being the double height colour changing graphic installations located in the cultural heart of the school, ‘The Watering Hole’ restaurant.
