Background

Lloyds Bank is part of the Lloyds Banking Group, the UK’s largest financial services Group, which includes many household names like, Halifax, Bank of Scotland and Scottish Widows.

The Challenge

The Lovell Park Road site is one of the largest in the UK and home to nearly 3,000 employees. The building itself was built in three phases, each one having been refurbished over the years to a varying degree – some not touched for 12 years.
Layouts and furniture types varied greatly from phase to phase and, over time, areas had become cramped and over-populated creating issues with fire escape routes and general circulation.

The Results

Developed to create a degree of flexibility across the estate, SoVibrant implemented its proposal within the Lloyds Workwise Programme criteria.

Using expert design and planning skills, SoVibrant ensured the amount of space allocated to shared facilities, such as meeting spaces, breakout areas, training rooms and quiet offices, was aligned to the corporate planning principles allowing the creation of an agile workplace.

The team achieved this by:

Introducing lockers and limited desk ownership for flexibility.
Validating and updating all Lloyds Bank building information.
Assessing and ensuring compliance of toilet and welfare accommodation.
Reconfiguring layouts to meet standards for primary circulation and fi re strategy.
Undertaking workplace Display Screen Equipment (DSE) overview.
Planning and designing layouts to achieve workplace changes.
Implementation of the new ‘Workwise’ standards.
