The Edge update – project wins award
IconInc project, The Edge, has won the award for Interior Design Concept 2015 at the Northern Design Awards, the project was also shortlisted for Commercial Interior Design Project £250k+.
The Northern Design Awards is the region’s greatest celebration of architecture, retail and design. Judged by the best in the business, these awards serve to recognise excellence across the North.
Wayne Hemingway, one of the evening’s hosts and a judge, commented: “I am thrilled to be a part of such an exciting event which celebrates the very brightest Northern design businesses.”
Marking a transformation in the quality of student accommodation, SoVibrant has recently completed the interior design at The Edge – a new development of all-inclusive apartments in Leeds – officially opened this week by luxury student accommodation provider, IconInc.
For this landmark £15m Leeds student development we developed a visionary interior design, which has launched in time for the next student intake. The team also created the branding for the development, all of its signage, way-finding and the interior graphics throughout.
Designed to meet higher student expectations, the space offers a range of high specification facilities including studio and one-bedroom apartments with all the luxury and added extras of a boutique hotel such as a 24-hour concierge service, an on-site gym, a private cinema, a games zone, catering service, dedicated work and social spaces and more.
The development had let 80% of all apartments prior to completion and helped by SoVibrant’s CGIs, which were an integral in the marketing of the development, the property is now fully occupied.
Commenting on the changing face of the Leeds student accommodation scene, SoVibrant’s managing director, Adam Atkinson, said: “The Edge is quite simply setting new standards for student accommodation in Leeds. Our customer-focused designs are in response to the shifting expectations of today’s students who are willing to pay for luxury. Using our strategic, transformation and creative skills, we have worked innovatively, understanding how students, technology and spaces integrate and interact, whilst taking in to account how IconInc operates and maintains the building, to deliver a successful space for everyone.”
